In the small town of Clovis, California, Frankie Dunn is a gruff but lovable boxing trainer who runs a struggling gym with his partner, Eddie "Scrap-Iron" Dupris. Frankie's personal life is marked by a painful estrangement from his daughter, whom he lost custody of years ago due to his inability to connect with her on an emotional level.
